About the Planning and Development Directorate

The Planning and Development Directorate is responsible for leading the Institute's strategic planning and institutional development efforts to enhance institutional and academic performance and promote excellence and sustainability. The Directorate aligns the Institute's plans and initiatives with the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the General Directorate of Education. It also oversees planning and development activities, monitors the implementation of operational plans, and supports the application of quality management systems and institutional and program accreditation requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and organizational excellence.

Directorate Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Alignment: Align the Institute's vision, mission, and objectives with the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the General Directorate of Education.

  2. Planning and Development Oversight: Oversee all planning and development activities, direct and coordinate the Planning and Curriculum Development sections, and monitor and evaluate their performance on a regular basis.

  3. Operational Planning: Supervise the preparation and implementation of the annual operational plans and monitor progress toward approved objectives and performance targets.

  4. Professional Development: Oversee the implementation of professional development and training plans for faculty members, trainers, and technical staff to strengthen their competencies and professional capabilities.

  5. Academic and Program Accreditation: Supervise the implementation of development plans and quality management systems, oversee program accreditation processes, and participate in institutional accreditation activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  6. Quality and Continuous Improvement: Promote the implementation of quality management and quality assurance practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance institutional effectiveness.

  7. Performance Evaluation and Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic performance reports and provide recommendations that contribute to improving institutional performance and the quality of outcomes.

  • Planning Department: The department’s mission is to supervise all planning processes and development activities at Yanbu Technical Institute.
  • Curriculum Development Department: The department’s mission is to oversee the quality assurance of approved curricula, academic programs, and courses, as well as the processes of improving and developing them at Yanbu Technical Institute.
  • Learning Outcomes: Its mission is to develop and ensure the implementation of mechanisms for measuring graduate characteristics, learning outcomes, and program objectives, curricula, and courses at Yanbu Technical Institute.
