About the Department

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Yanbu Industrial College is recognized as a leading educational destination in the fields of chemical engineering and process operations & chemical analysis technology. Operating under the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the department is dedicated to delivering high-quality academic and applied education that meets the needs of the industrial sector, preparing graduates with the knowledge and skills required to integrate effectively into the workforce.

The department offers the following academic programs:

• Intermediate Diploma in Process Operations & Chemical Analysis Technology (for male and female students).
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (for male students).

These programs aim to equip students with specialized engineering knowledge and practical experience necessary to work in refining, petrochemicals, manufacturing industries, and fields related to quality control and chemical analysis.

The department also strives to foster a culture of research and innovation, and to develop an educational environment grounded in integrity, creativity, and teamwork. Cooperative training provides students with practical experience in the field of chemical engineering or process operations and chemical analysis technology, preparing them professionally and allowing them to apply their academic knowledge and skills in the real world. Through practical experience, students will have the opportunity to develop and enhance their understanding, skills, and values in various aspects of engineering and related fields.

Academic Advising:

Academic advising is the process of supporting and guiding students throughout their educational journey to help them achieve their academic and career goals. The academic advisor plays a vital role in guiding students toward making appropriate decisions regarding their studies, choosing academic paths, and developing personal skills.

Goals of Academic Advising:

1. Guiding Students: Helping students understand curricula and graduation requirements and advising on different academic paths.
2. Developing Personal Skills: Supporting students in developing their personal skills, such as communication, time management, and problem-solving.
3. Setting Goals: Assisting students in identifying their academic and career goals and developing plans to achieve them.
4. Supporting Mental Health: Providing psychological and social support to students and addressing challenges they may face during their academic journey.
