YEL&PYI was first accredited by Eaquals in 2016, demonstrating its commitment to delivering high-quality language programs. Management and Administration

At Yanbu English Language and Preparatory Year Institute, there is a dedicated team for risk management and

regular reviews, both of which are used to inform strategic and business planning. There is evidence that there

are systems in place to facilitate proactive and strategic management of innovation and change designed to

effect improvement in the centre’s performance. The language centre’s activities are well integrated within the

wider institution’s strategy and language policy.

The language centre’s efficient administration is facilitated by an exceptionally well-designed, fully integrated

and user-friendly information system providing varying and appropriate levels of access to managers, teachers,

students and other stakeholders.

Communication with Staff

The management and staff of Yanbu English Language and Preparatory Year Institute are exceptionally well

integrated into the governance and committee structure of the wider institution, with full representation of all

bodies.

Communication with Students and Other Stakeholders

Considerable efforts have been made to ensure maximum comprehensibility of the Student Guide for the

Preparatory Year through the use of visuals, layout and colour to highlight important points. There are

appropriately scheduled student council meetings with class representatives where students can raise

questions and express concerns.

Academic Resources

Resources at Yanbu English Language and Preparatory Year Institute are excellent because there is reference

material on methodology, professional journals and other resources, which promote professional knowledge

and development. These are relevant, up-to-date and reflect staff needs and the Yanbu English Language and

Preparatory Year Institute strategic objectives of providing the highest levels of language tuition. There is a

rigorous approval system for supplementary materials ensuring that all materials follow criteria for selection

and are aligned to the intended learning outcomes. These are available on the shared drive and created by

teachers, course and programme coordinators.

on amenities and services offered to students to help them settle in quickly.

Yanbu English Language and Preparatory Year Institute is working closely with other departments at Yanbu
