Industrial Welding Skills
Welding is one of the most important skills used in modern industries and is indispensable. Welding is used to join different metals together as well as to perform maintenance work.
The industrial welding laboratories at Jubail Technical Institute contain high-tech welding equipment used for training in welding metal joints using various techniques such as: gas-shielded electric arc welding, gas-shielded tungsten welding, manual electric arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and gas-shielded flux welding and powder. The student also trains in metal cutting skills using oxyacetylene and plasma cutting equipment.
Intensive practical training is an essential part of the program, as students acquire various industrial skills including gas cutting, pipe beveling, taking measurements, and using modern tools and equipment for pipe welding
They are also trained to work in teams and independently, which enhances their ability to solve problems and make decisions.
This training aims to qualify students to work in the field of welding various projects such as pressure vessels and other metal structures made of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum, enabling them to prepare and weld projects safely and efficiently, simulating local market projects.
In addition, student learns how to test weldments using Non-destructive Methods of inspection and destructive methods too.
Student has the opportunity to become (CW) Certified Welder from AWS at JTI through the ATF Test Facility accredited by AWS The American Welding Society.
