Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):

Graduates of INCT Program will:

1.    Pursue a successful career as laboratory technicians in chemical laboratories and other related fields;

2.     Work effectively individually or within teams;

3.     Communicate effectively through oral, graphical and written discourse;

4.     Engage in professional development through continuous education and training; and

5.     Adapt different responsibilities by respecting diversity, professionalism and ethical practices.

Student Outcomes (SOs):

  • Communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in writing and in person.
  • Apply a wide variety of mathematical techniques with the degree of accuracy required to solve technical problems appropriate to the discipline.
  • Interact with others in groups or teams that contribute to the effective working relationships.
  • Apply knowledge of safe working practices, including relevant occupational health & safety regulations.
  • Obtain and analyze data; prepare reports, plans, specifications, sketches, graphics, drawings, or other technical documentation.
  • Use computer hardware and software necessary to the performance of tasks within the discipline.
  • Apply basic mathematical, physical, and chemical concepts to the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Conduct basic manual and instrumental quantitative analyses and tests accurately using prescribed laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare organic and inorganic compounds using standard synthetic and purification procedures.
  • Perform routine statistical calculations to report the results of analyses and tests.
  • Perform quality control procedures.
