About the department

The Learning Resources Department at the General Administration of Education in Jubail was established in the year 1440 AH under the supervision of the Agency for Research and Industrial Development. Its purpose is to oversee the libraries of colleges and institutes in Jubail Industrial City, which include three libraries: the Jubail Industrial College libraries (for both male and female campuses) and the Jubail Technical Institute library.

The department aims to make these libraries central and exemplary institutions that serve the educational community—including faculty members, trainers, students, and trainees—as well as researchers, company employees, and residents of Jubail City. It also contributes to realizing the vision of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu by supporting the lifelong learning initiative.

This is achieved by providing access to the latest publications across all types of information resources and ensuring that users can reach them through advanced tools and technologies. Furthermore, the department strives to establish partnerships with other libraries and information centers.

The department provides a number of services, including:

  • Internal inspection services.
  • Loan service.
  • Current briefing.
  • Reference service
  • Direct search service in the library catalog.
  • Search databases.
  • Providing training courses in the field of information search.
