Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Graduates of INCT Program will
1. Pursue a successful career as laboratory technicians in chemical laboratories and other related fields.
2. Work effectively individually or within teams.
3. Communicate effectively through oral, graphical and written discourse.
4. Engage in professional development through continuous education and training.
5. Adapt different responsibilities by respecting diversity, professionalism and ethical practices.
Student Outcomes (SOs)
- Communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in writing and in person.
- Apply a wide variety of mathematical techniques with the degree of accuracy required to solve technical problems appropriate to the discipline.
- Interact with others in groups or teams that contribute to the effective working relationships.
- Apply knowledge of safe working practices, including relevant Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
- Obtain and analyze data; prepare reports, plans, specifications, sketches, graphics, drawings, or other technical documentation.
- Use computer hardware and software necessary to the performance of tasks within the discipline.
- Apply basic mathematical, physical, and chemical concepts to the performance of assigned tasks.
- Conduct basic manual and instrumental quantitative analyses and tests accurately using prescribed laboratory procedures.
- Prepare organic and inorganic compounds using standard synthetic and purification procedures.
- Perform routine statistical calculations to report the results of analyses and tests.
- Perform Quality Control procedures.
